New operating systems add amazing new features and security to our world but that can often come at the cost of compatibility with our current software and drivers, many of which are vital pieces to a studio or DJ setup. While software and hardware drivers can be updated to account for the changes in a new operating system, this is not always immediate. To prevent any downtime waiting for an update, it's much easier to check the compatibility of your gear before making the jump. This article is a list of all macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 compatible Akai Pro hardware, as well as what you need to know before updating.

3 Things You'll Need to Know
macOS High SierraClass-Compliant Supported Hardware
The following products will work with macOS High Sierra without any need for additional drivers.
The VirtualBox Extension Pack is a good addition to any virtual machine regardless of the operating system running it. It has many useful features but what stand out is the ability to connect USB 3.0 and 2.0. You can use various devices to transfer data directly to or from your virtual machine. Using your virtual machine just got better!
Please note: If you do not see your product listed in this article, it is not officially supported for use with macOS High Sierra. Compatibility testing is only necessary for products with USB or Firewire connectivity and therefore does not affect any Akai Pro speakers or headphones.
Driver Supported Hardware
* The latest MPC Touch Display Link driver is supported officially for macOS 10.13.1 and macOS 10.13.2. Users on macOS 10.13.3 and later may still experience display connectivity problems. See the MPC Touch Support section below for more information.
Required: All driver supported products on macOS High Sierra will now require the user to allow the system extension in the Security & Privacy System Preferences. After installing the driver, the following pop-up will appear to report that the driver extension has been blocked:

To enable the extension and allow the driver, navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy. Restart the computer first if this is necessary to complete the driver installation. Under the General tab, look for the 'System software from developer '(driver developer)' was blocked from loading.'
Click Allow. Follow the prompts to restart the computer if necessary and the device will be recognized normally on startup. It will only be necessary to complete this process once.
MPC Touch Support for 10.13.3 and Up
The MPC Touch display link drivers are not officially supported for use on macOS 10.13.3, 10.13.4, 10.13.5, and 10.13.6.
Users on these operating systems may experience display connectivity issues from what has been observed as a display mirroring bug in the Apple OS that prevents the Displaylink driver from properly activating and syncing with the MPC Touch display.
While the potential for Displaylink to resolve this with a driver update is being explored, it is unclear if this will be resolved without a complete fix from Apple. For the time being, we recommend all MPC Touch users avoid updating until complete compatibility has been confirmed. This page will be updated to reflect any changes.
